Burlap and Lace.. two of my favorite things.

Burlap and Lace

Hello to everyone!  Hope all of you are doing well.  We have been so busy around the Crosson household.  We are doing several home improvement projects and Tracy and I have been working really hard.  It all started with a few tiles falling off the side of the tub and from there... good grief.  Anyhow, when we are all done, I will post some photos. The last few weeks have been  depressing for me.  It has been 2 years this week since my mom passed away.  I try to stay focused on the good memories, but this time of year just brings back all the memories of her last few weeks (which were not good).   When my mother was alive, she always knew when something was bothering me.  I tend to find a project and work on it with a vengance when something is on my mind.  My mom would come by the house and find me working like a mad man on some project or scrapbooking and she would say, "Okay...What's on your mind?"  Lol.  I guess I haven't changed much -- because for the last few days I have been sewing up owl pillows, stampin up some Christmas cards, making teacher's gifts and  putting a few wreaths together.   I really miss her.   So... here is what I put together tonight.  A burlap and lace wreath.. complete with a little bird  in a nest.... in memory of my mom.

  2. Hi Cathy! I'm so sorry about your mother and do know how it feels. My Daddy passed away in 1997 on Dec. 13, and it is a very hard time still. He was just like your mom, where he knew me like a book. He would even call me on the phone and ask if I was okay? He just knew.
Now. I love your pretty wreath and sounds like you have gotten lots of things done.
Thanks so much for popping in to see me.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia :)

  5. Thanks, Katie. I want to try and make a sign like yours soon. (perhaps after Thanksgiving). Gonna pick me up some liquid nails this weekend! I will post a pic of it and link it to your blog when I get it finished.
