Handmade Hot/Cold Rice Packs

Today, I want to share with you another craft that I made for Christmas gifts.  They are hot/cold rice packs.  These are great to put in the freezer or stick in the microwave and place on sore muscles or joints.  My husband also uses his by heating it and putting it in the bed to keep his toes warm!  I followed this link to make them.. https://mycreativenergy.wordpress.com/2013/02/19/tutorial-how-to-sew-a-rice-and-lavender-heating-pad/  I used fleece for the inside so it would feel cozy.   I also added scents by pouring in some different potpourri rocks into each bag.  For the guys, I used some woodsy looking material and black fleece.  For the girls, I used different floral patterns and blue polka dot fleece.  And for my brother in law -- I used the houndstooth pattern.  Hope you enjoy looking at them.  You should try and sew one up for yourself!

Thanks for stopping by!  Come back again soon.

Monogrammed Purses

Today, I wanted to share another project that I sewed as Christmas gifts for my family.  I saw the tutorial for these beautiful monogrammed purses on pinterest and had to give it a try.  They were so fun to make and I loved getting to choose the fabrics for the inside and outside of each purse.  I found the material and cute embellishments at Hobby Lobby.

I also made this tote bag and matching scarf.

If you would like to give these bags a try; here is the link. http://www.sweettmakesthree.com/2014/06/easy-sew-handbag-diy-bag/  Thanks for visiting.  I plan to post more of my handmade Christmas gifts soon!

Lap Quilts made with Love

Hello friends.  I know it has been a while since I have posted anything and I am sorry.  I was SO busy during the holidays trying to finish all the projects I was working on for Christmas gifts.  I am going to share them  with you over the next few posts.  They are not that spectacular -- but I was happy to get them all finished and have a little something "made with love" for my family members.  One of the first projects I started on was a lap quilt for each family.  I made four different ones.  Here they are:

Tea Time Quilt

Blue and Brown Quilt

Patriotic Quilt

Shabby Flower Quilt

I made each of these quilts with either the strip design or the basic block.  I really enjoyed making these and hope they hold up well!  Come back soon and I will share some of my other handmade gifts I put together!  Thanks for visiting!
