A Woodland Quilt for Addison

Hello friends!  Happy HUMP day!  In case you have not heard, I am going to be a grandmother in February and  I am so excited.  It's a girl!  I couldn't wait to get started making her something.     I saw this material at www.fabricdepot.com and knew I had to have it.  It is designed by Me-O-my for SPX  Fabrics.   Addison's nursery is a woodland theme and I fell in love with these colors.  (The pictures do not do the fabric justice).  I decided a quilt would be the perfect thing to make her.   I sewed a strip quilt because that's my favorite type (and one of the easiest) to do.  I already had the blue and orange fabric on hand.  I used a light batting because it does not really get that cold here in Alabama.  It turned out to be a rather large quilt for a baby --  but she can grow into it.  I had fun doing embroidery stitching around the little critters.  I also had a good friend to embroider her name on one of the strips. (hmmm...wish list -- embroidery machine) She did a wonderful job!   I can't wait for Addison to be here so I can wrap her in this quilt and rock her all day!
