Duck Dynasty Groom Cake

Hello friends!  I have some more wedding pictures to share.  I hope you are not tired of them already.  My son in law is a Duck Dynasty fan so it was not too hard to choose what decor we would use on his Groom's table.  It was so much fun designing and decorating this!   The signs all have famous Uncle Si quotes on them.  On top of the cake is Uncle Si with his tea glass.  I also had some cattails to  put on this table; but discovered them still in the  dressing room after the wedding!  I guess I just got too busy!  I did have help with this table --  my youngest daughter enjoyed  helping with this project.    Hope you like it!

Wedding Day Photographs

Well.. I can't believe the wedding has come and gone.  After a year of planning and dreaming; it was even better than we could have imagined!  It was SO much fun and everything turned out great. (Thanks to our wonderful family and friends who pitched in to help us!)   I am anxious to share  the wedding and the reception  photos with you.. but it's going to be about two weeks before the reception shots are ready.  We had two photographers.. one for wedding shots and one for the reception.  However  -- our wedding photographer has released some of the photos to us.  Hilary and I were so pleased!  The photographer was my sister in law, Amanda.  She did an AWESOME job and really captured the mood of the day in her pictures.  Hope you enjoy!  Stay tuned for more photos to come soon.

They saw each other before the wedding so they would not keep guests waiting afterwards.  He walked away from the door and she walked up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder.  We were all peeking from a nearby window.  Very special moment!

Burlap and Lace Table Numbers for Wedding

Hello bloggin' friends!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  I had a very productive one.  Us girls  got together and completed several projects for the wedding.  One of the projects we accomplished are these table numbers.  We took some 2 x 4's and cut them 5 1/2 inches long, painted them white,  and  wrapped them with burlap.  Next, we cut the numbers from scrap paper using my cricut.    Last, but not least, we added lace and a flower embellishment.  I just love how they turned out!

Autumn Blessings Wood Block craft

Hello friends!  I am a little late sharing this with you.. but last week we had our "pinterest class" at the library.  We made the cutest Autumn block set that fits perfectly on the window sill above my sink.  I just love it!  The wonderful thing is that it was pre-cut and all we had to do was attach the papers and letters.   Our fearless leaders (Paulette and Jennifer) ordered them from this site http://www.thoughtsinvinyl.com/.    They are only $9.99 each. I think I may order more so I can have one on my window sill for every season.  Thanks for dropping by.

Burlap Ruffled Tablecloth

Hello bloggin' friends!  I wanted to share my burlap ruffled tablecloth with you today.  Hilary and I decided that we wanted to have a ruffled tablecloth for the bride's cake table.  I started looking for one and was shocked at the price!  I could only find them on Etsy and most were priced from $200.00 - $350.00!  I decided that I could do this myself and went to work.  I purchased an entire bolt of burlap from Hobby Lobby for $48.00 (using my 40 % coupon).  Of course, I did not need the entire bolt, but I plan to use it for other projects too.  I used about 4 yards for the tablecloth.  I already had the white muslin that I used for some of the ruffles.  It did take ALOT of time but I think it turned out really nice.  Tracy was alot of help with the "math" part of this project.  I spent a total of $22.00 to make this 6 foot tablecloth.  I think that's pretty good savings!  Now.. to figure out what kind of  tablecloth to  put on the other tables.....  I sure am having fun planning this wedding.  Just hope I can get it all done in time.   Thanks for dropping by.

Burlap Bird Project

I guess I am just on a burlap "kick" lately.  I saw this burlap bird posted below (second photo) at Hobby Lobby.  I thought it was so pretty.  Luckily, my brother in law is quite skilled at cutting out wooden shapes!  So --  he so kindly cut out this bird for me.  It's 30 inches long!    I covered it with burlap and did some stenciling on it and I am pretty happy with how it turned out.  Of course, this will be used for the wedding décor.  Lol.  Everything I am doing lately is for the wedding!  Thanks for stopping by and visiting.  Hope you have a great weekend.

Burlap Rosette Wreath (Hobby Lobby knockoff)

 

Hello bloggin' friends!  While shopping at Hobby Lobby this weekend; I ran across the most beautiful rosette burlap wreath.  I  thought to myself -- this would be perfect hanging on the sweetheart table for the wedding!  Then I saw the price --  $49.00.  Too steep for me.  (Especially since it was only about 10 inches tall.)  So -- I set out to make my own. I already had tons of burlap and a styrofoam wreath from a left over project.  I gathered my Styrofoam wreath, hot glue gun, scissors, and began cutting strips of burlap 2 inches by 24 inches long.  I wrapped the wreath in burlap to cover the white part.  Next, I watched lots of youtube videos on how to make burlap rosettes.  None of them seemed to turn out right for me.  I just kept playing with my burlap until I got my roses  to look the way I wanted them.  Last, I attached them to the wreath form with pearl tipped floral pins.  I was really happy with the way it turned out!  It's bigger than the Hobby Lobby one -- and ALOT cheaper!

Burlap Wreath with Owl

Hello Friends!  We recently had our "Pinterest Night" at our local library.  We made burlap wreaths and they were all so adorable.  We had a great teacher (thanks, Paulette) and they were fairly simple to make.  I just love mine and can't wait to get it on my front door.  Here are some pictures I wanted to  share with you.
