Wood Block Crafts

I enjoy making wood block crafts.  My husband always has a stack of leftover wood lying around from his projects.  I recently made this name block set and I made the "Believe" blocks last Christmas.  Hope you like them.   If you have made some wood projects; please feel free to leave a link to your blog and share.   Thanks for stopping by!

The scrapbook paper I used came from Stampin' Up.  I cut the letters from vinyl on my cricut.

My Three Ghouls

.

A friend of mine was kind enough to give me some bed springs recently.  I have been dying to make some crafts and use them.  Tonight -- I was in the mood for something a little "ghostly." I was inspired by this post over at "You're too Crafty".  Go over and check out her ghosts too.   http://youretoocrafty.blogspot.com/2011/10/too-cute-to-spook.html  Hope you like them both.

"Sewing Seeds Outreach" Projects

Hello bloggin' friends!  I have missed you.  I have been extremely busy with all kinds of projects.  I wanted to share with you one of the things I have been working on.  Our church has a group called "Sewing Seeds Outreach".  We make all kinds of things including;  aprons and bread basket liners for our fellowship hall kitchen, rice bags and joy jars for shut ins and friends recovering from surgery, banners for our Bible School, and large apron bibs for the nursing home and Valley Haven School (a special needs school).  Currently,  we are making pillowcase dresses for needy children.  Our missionaries will deliver these when they make their next trip.  I know pillowcase dresses are nothing new -- but they are new to me!  I LOVE making them.  I am enjoying it so much that I have made several for friends also.  I have posted pictures of the dresses I have sewed up for friends so far. I will post a picture of all the dresses that our Sewing Seeds Outreach class does when we are finished.  Thanks for stopping by!

Thrifty College room decor ideas

My middle daughter transferred from her Jr. College this year.  She is now 4 hours away and it might as well be 40!  I miss her and she is feeling a little homesick too.  She is staying with family and only about 8 miles from campus.  She is so blessed to be able to live with my sister and family.  They have a complete basement with bedroom and bath that is all hers!  We all had so much fun decorating it for her and my sister and family were so sweet to welcome her in.  I wanted to share the pictures with you.  I collected the things for her room for about a year.  So -- after many yard sale, thrift store and bargain shopping trips... here is what we came up with.  Hope you like it.  She sure does!

My sister and family did so much to make Hannah's move special.  They filled her ceiling with balloons and made her special gifts like the scrabble letters, lego décor and a welcome basket full of goodies!  She is so blessed to be able to stay with them.
Thanks for dropping by!

Chevron Ice Cream/Cupcake Party

Hello bloggin' friends!  I wanted to share my daughter's 17th birthday party with you.  She is a huge fan of ice cream; so we decided to have an ice cream sundae party.  I found the adorable chevron print party supplies at WalMart.  (.97 cents per package -- can't beat that!)  We invited the family over and  enjoyed ice cream sundaes with all the toppings!
